Increased regionalization of value chains to better serve Gulf countries
Wilo Middle East, a German manufacturer of pumps and systems, joined the 1st edition of NMI Gulf Future Conference (GFC) on November 30, 2021, in Dubai to support discussions of future opportunities, synergies and fields of cooperation between Germany and the Gulf region.
Organized by North Africa Middle East Initiative of German Business (NMI) and hosted by the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK UAE), the conference convened over 300 leaders and industry key players in the presence of HE Frank-Walter Steinmer, Federal President of Germany, and other ministers from GCC as they exchanged information and market updates, discuss challenges and synergies, and network for more collaborations across major industries.
Wilo’s participation in the event aims to support the strong cooperation between Germany and Gulf countries in various sectors, especially in advancing sustainable practices.
The event served as an ideal venue for in-depth discussions on how to address challenges in the Gulf region including water scarcity, a significant concern that requires Wilo’s expertise in energy-efficient and sustainable pump solutions and pumping systems.
On behalf of the company and as one of the panelists, Jens Dallendoerfer, Chief Sales Officer, Sales Region Emerging Markets, Wilo Group, spoke on the second session of the conference themed ‘How Resilient are your Supply Chains?’ Dallendoerfer shed light on how the Covid-19 pandemic magnified the weaknesses of the interconnected global supply chains.
